Senator Joe Hune visits Cornerstone for a tasty Farm to School lunch!

Super Local Asparagus!

Asparagus has been a hit with Dexter students for several years now, so this year we challenged our farm to school program to find asparagus from sources that were even more local than in years past. Local Lettuce Feedback

This month, students in all 6 Dexter schools were able to try locally grown lettuce from Zilke Vegetable Farm in Milan, MI. At Wylie Elementary, students tried samples of the lettuce straight from the farmer herself. A week later, the lettuce was ready to be harvested and delivered to the schools. Frozen Blueberries for March!

This month’s featured local food is Michigan Blueberries served in a Blueberry Salsa! The blueberries are from George Dent Frozen Foods base in St. Joseph, MI.
