What makes a salad bar a super bar?

Fresh radishes from the Creekside Gardens!  

IMG_2396Creekside students harvested radishes for the cafeteria salad bars during after school Garden Club on Monday.  In addition to the radishes, speckled trout lettuce, tomatillos and herbs will be served in DCS cafeterias to finish our fall Garden to Cafeteria month.

Our gardens need your help!  Please join us on Saturday, October 7th from 10-12 for our Creekside Garden work day.  We will be cleaning out beds at both the Creekside Kitchen Garden and the Sullivan Memorial Garden.  Refreshments will be provided.  Questions?  Please email your Farm to School Coordinators:

  1. Hi, I do communications work for 10 Cents a Meal, the state pilot project that schools in Dexter are benefiting to support local food purchases in their cafeteria.       Thanks for reaching out! We would be happy if you shared our work. We have some really great and innovative Farm to School programming in Dexter and are so happy to have received the 10 cent grant. It really helps support our farm to cafeteria, harvest of the month offerings.
